We are delighted to have welcomed our new cohort to The Magna Carta School at the end of June for their Induction Day. Students began the day with an assembly before meeting their new tutors. This was followed by lessons in Geography (erupting volcanoes), French or Spanish and Computing (coding with Angry Birds) and an option choice of Dance, Drama, Food Tech or PE.

Students left in the afternoon smiling with a vast majority saying they were excited and any nerves about joining in September had gone. To me, this is exactly what Induction Day should do; remove fear about making their next step on their educational journey.

In the evening, the Headteacher and myself welcomed parents who were given an introduction to the school and provided with an array of information regarding uniform, buses, lockers and the canteen.

To help you support your child ahead of September, I’ve put together a document to help prompt you and guide you. I’ve also provided a downloadable version of the Transition Project for this summer’s induction.
